BRICS Workshop on E-commerce Standardization Held

The workshop on e-commerce standardization of the BRICS countries was held in hybrid form on July 5, 2022, which was attended by more than 40 participants, including representatives from the national standardization bodies and experts and scholars in the area of e-commerce in Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa. 
 
During the meeting, experts from these countries shared the progress of e-commerce standardization in each country, and discussed the routes and methods on standards research and cooperation. At the end, a consensus was reached on further promoting the communication and cooperation on standards related to e-commerce among the BRICS countries.
 
The event, as one of a series of activities on standardization communication and cooperation among the BRICS countries in 2022, is a part of the ministerial meeting on standardization cooperation. Taking the opportunity of China as the BRICS Chair of 2022, the meeting, through dialogues and communications in the field of international e-commerce standardization, is aimed at raising the enthusiasm in promoting standards research and participation in international standardization activities within the framework of ISO, and providing standards support for the sound and sustainable development of the e-commerce industry in the BRICS countries.
