Source from:SAC    Update on:2021-05-19 11:16

The South Asia Standardization (Lhasa) Research Center is officially approved as a national-level regional standardization research center after receiving the acceptance by experts from SAMR and affiliated National Center of Standards Evaluation. This indicates that the Center has the capability of conducting research on the standardization in South Asian countries.

Since its preparation was approved by SAC in July 2017, the Center, aiming at establishing an open path for South Asian countries, has made substantial fundamental research in the areas such as standardization legislation, standards systems and key fields of standardization in South Asian countries.

To meet the strategic demands of the Belt and Road Initiative, the Center will make greater efforts to train inter-disciplinary talents, improve research capability, expand depth and breadth of research, and promote and apply related research findings.

Such moves will provide strong technical support for driving Chinese standards to go global and facilitating the sound development of economic and trade cooperation between China and South Asian countries, thereby promoting the implementation of the Belt and Road Initiative.
