China Holds the Competition for 2021 IEC YP Successfully

To choose the Chinese candidates for the IEC Young Professionals Program in 2021, an online competition was held successfully on August 26. The competition was hosted by China National Committee of IEC, organized by Shenzhen Administration for Market Regulation, and supported by the Quality and Standards Academy of Shenzhen Technology University, Shenzhen Institute of Standards and Technology, as well as International Standardization Talent Training Base (Shenzhen).The event was addressed by Guo Chenguang, Deputy Director-General of Standards Innovative Management Department, SAMR. It was broadcast live, attracting over 6,000 audience and realizing good publicity effect.
Guo Chenguang pointed out that standards contribute to the global interconnectivity, which plays an increasingly prominent, fundamental and guiding role in economic and social development. And talents building is the key to standardization. 
As the most authoritative international standard organization in the electric and electrotechnical fields, has developed the standards and conformity assessment procedures widely applied in the world, Guo emphasized. He expected young experts to actively participate in the international standardization activities, striving to promote international standardization, and contribute Chinese wisdom to the international standardization cause.
Through keynote speech in English and open reply, four candidates including Pu Jiangbo, Sun Ximeng, Yuan Wangtan and Zhang Yuan stood out by scores given by 11 domestic and foreign experts from 12 young experts who have participated the competition in 2020. The candidates will attend the 85th IEC General Meeting from October 2 to 7 and compete for the leaders of IEC Young Professionals.
