The 2021 Workshop on Belt and Road Regional Life Sciences Economy Standardization was held in hybrid form at the China National GeneBank in Shenzhen on December 22, 2021. With the theme of "co-constructing Belt and Road regional standards", the workshop discussed the outcomes and direction of the development of Belt and Road life sciences economy standardization.

She noted that standards, as the passport of international trade and the booster for the transformation and application of scientific and technological outcomes, play an important role in facilitating international trade and scientific and technological exchanges. The Belt and Road Life Sciences Economy Alliance will establish a standardization committee, bringing new opportunities for its industrial development and trade contacts.

Dr. Li also called on more countries to join the alliance, develop related standards and share the benefits of development by standards through the Belt and Road Initiative.

The event was attended by more than 200 participants, including government officials, experts, scholars and enterprise representatives from countries and regions along the Belt and Road.
