SAC Signs MoU with CCPIT for Better International Trade

Standardization Administration of China (SAC) and China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) signed a MoU in Beijing on June 10, 2022. Dr. Tian Shihong, Vice-Minister of State Administration for Market Regulation (SAMR) and Administrator of SAC, and Mr. Ren Hongbin, Chairman of CCPIT, attended and addressed the signing ceremony.
Dr. Tian indicated that China has always attached great importance to standardization work. And the supporting role of standards in trade facilitation should be enhanced according to the requirements of the National Standardization Development Outline issued in last October. Standards have become the technical support for economic activities and social development.
Taking the signing of the MoU as an opportunity, SAC will work with CCPIT to facilitate the trade of enterprises, promote the national and international coordination, further participate in the global governance and practically facilitate the bilateral cooperation. They will use standards as a tool to promote the unimpeded trade, so as to drive the dual circulation of domestic and international markets and facilitate the high-quality development of economy, added Dr. Tian.
Mr. Ren Hongbin said that the MoU indicated that the cooperation between trade promotion organizations and national standards bodies advocated by International Standardization Organization (ISO) and International Trade Center (ITC) has first taken place in China, which will provide more Chinese solutions and practices for other countries in the world to realize the pioneering role of standards in trade promotion and improve the capability building of trade investment and promotion organizations. 
ISO Secretary-General Mr. Sergio Mujica addressed the event in video form, and Mr. Zhang Xiaogang, former ISO President, and Mr. Yao Xin, Secretary-General of Commercial Sub-council of CCPIT, gave insightful lectures.
