BRICS Workshop on Emission Peak and Carbon Neutrality Standardization Held

The workshop on emission peak and carbon neutrality standardization of the BRICS countries was held in virtual form on June 28, 2022, which was attended by more than 20 participants, including experts from Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa and representatives from the national standardization bodies in some of these countries. 
During the meeting, experts shared work experience of emission peak and carbon neutrality related standards. They also held in-depth discussions on further cooperation within the framework of ISO, and reached a broad consensus on constantly promoting the communication on standards related to carbon peak and neutrality in BRICS countries.
The event, as one of a series of activities on standardization communication and cooperation in 2022, is a part of the ministerial meeting on standardization cooperation of the BRICS countries. Taking the opportunity of China as the BRICS Chair of 2022, the meeting, through dialogues and communications in the field of international standardization of emission peak and carbon neutrality, is aimed at seeking more consensus, facilitating more practical achievements, and providing standards support for the sustainable and high-quality development of the BRICS countries.
