The annual symposium on the national local standardization work was held in Chengdu in late July, capital of Southwest China's Sichuan province, which summarized the local standardization work across China in the 13th Five-Year Plan period (2016-2020) and the first half of 2021 and deployed the relevant work in the second half of 2021.
The local standardization work in the past five years was remarkable with the all-round advancement of standardization reform, practical implementation of national key deployments, notable results achieved by the "standardization+" action, and more active participation in international standardization activities. It laid a more solid foundation for the standardization work, said Tian Shihong, Vice-Minister of SAMR and Administrator of SAC, in his address.
Tian required all standardizers in local areas to focus on the hotspots and difficulties in their areas and vigorously push various work to make a good start of the standardization work in the 14th Five-Year Plan period (2021-2025).
To be specific, the standardization strategy shall be promoted in a systematical way; the standardization reform shall be more targeted and innovative; the local standardization work shall be more efficient and applicable; the association standardization shall pay more attention to improve both quantity and quality; and the enterprise standardization shall be more innovation-led and better implemented.
The regionally coordinated standardization shall focus more on innovation in institutional building and system innovation; pilot, demonstration and innovation bases shall focus on publishing standards with high quality and promoting their application; the international standardization shall focus more on building platforms and serving openness and cooperation; and in terms of the standardization infrastructure, more efforts shall be made on talent cultivation and theoretical research.
At the event, Zhao Xiangeng, Academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering, Zhang Gang, former Counsellor of the State Council, and Zhang Xiaogang, former ISO President gave special lectures on the standardization reform and innovation, and standardization experts from market regulation departments in Beijing, Shanghai, Shanxi, Zhejiang, Shandong, Sichuan and other provinces and cities shared their insights.
