National Standardization Work Conference Held in Beijing

The national standardization work conference was held in Beijing on January 14, 2022, which summarized the standardization work in 2021 and deployed the key tasks in 2022. Dr. Tian Shihong, Vice-Minister of State Administration for Market Regulation (SAMR) and Administrator of Standardization Administration of China (SAC) attended and addressed the event.


Remarkable results have been achieved in the standardization area in 2021 by deeply implementing the national decisions and deployments and gathering all national strength to serve the overall conditions, noted Dr. Tian.


Dr. Tian pointed out that at the national level, we have made overall planning to better serve the implementation of national key strategies and achieved new breakthroughs in standardization work. At the local level, we have adopted precise policies to better serve the local economic and social development, which had new effects on standardization development. At the international level, we have upheld the spirit of mutual benefits and win-win results to better serve the new development pattern of dual circulation and take a new step towards internationalization.


He emphasized that the National Standardization Development Outline has depicted a great blueprint for standardization development in the new era, which is of milestone significance in the development of national standardization. We should fully realize the great significance of the Outline, accurately grasp its profound connotation and thoroughly implement the Outline.


He also put forward the requirements for standardization work in 2022 with the general principles of making progress while keeping performance stable to put the Outline in place.


To be specific, key breakthroughs will be made to improve the high-quality standards system; reform and innovation will be enhanced to raise the internal driving force of standardization development; efficiency improvement will be strengthened to enhance standards implementation and supervision; international cooperation will be reinforced to deepen the institutional openness of standards; and a solid foundation will be laid to upgrade the standardization governance capability.


At the meeting, excellent speeches were given by leaders from the Ministry of Natural Resources, Ministry of Transport, Hebei and Shandong Administration for Market Regulation, China Electricity Council and China National Institute of Standardization for experience exchanges.


The meeting in hybrid form was attended by the representatives from relevant departments in Cyberspace Administration of China and the State Council, Equipment Development Department of the Central Military Commission, standardization departments in related organizations and industrial associations, departments of and units directly under SAMR, as well as standardization divisions of market regulation departments across the nation.
