The 120th ISO Council meeting was held on February 21-23 in Geneva, Switzerland. Dr. Tian Shihong, Vice Minister of State Administration for Market Regulation (SAMR) and Administrator of Standardization Administration of China (SAC), led the Chinese delegation to attend the meeting.

Established in 1947, ISO is the leading international organization in the standardization area with a membership of 167 national standards bodies. SAMR (SAC) participates in the international standardization activities of ISO on behalf of China, a member body of ISO and Group 1 member of ISO Council. As the core governance body of ISO, the ISO Council is responsible for the organization’s rules, policies, development strategies, financial plans and other significant issues.
