Hosted by the People’s Government of Shenzhen, the first Shenzhen Standardization Activity Week with the theme of “standards lead high-quality development” kicked off on April 24, 2023. The launching ceremony was addressed by Dr. Tian Shihong, Vice Minister of State Administration for Market Regulation (SAMR) and Administrator of Standardization Administration of China (SAC).

By putting national policies and deployments on standardization work in place, Shenzhen has made positive progress in serving industrial development, supporting technological innovation and facilitating opening up through standardization, according to the event.

To further implement the National Standardization Development Outline, more efforts shall be made to focus on the supply of standards, enhance the level, interconnectivity and implementation of standards, and consolidate the foundation of standardization development, so as to practically lead the high-quality development of Shenzhen with high standards.

During the activity week, a series of activities were held, such as the founding of new standardization technical bodies and the technical exchanges of standardization in emerging industries. The event was attended by representatives from local government, market regulation departments at national and regional levels, research institutes and enterprises.
