SAMR (SAC) recently released a batch of important national standards covering the areas such as safe production, consumption, agricultural production, carbon emission accounting, which will play an essential role in promoting high-quality economic and social development and balancing development and security.

In terms of safe production, the mandatory national standard on fire-resistant doorsets upgrades related technical indicators, which helps improve the performance and quality of door products, and practically ensures the safety of people’s lives and property. GB/T 44908-2024, Safety requirements and evaluation methods for technical transformation of wind farm, will improve the reliability of wind turbine generators, promote the technical transformation and innovation of wind farms, and reduce the occurrence of malignant accidents while effectively improving the efficiency of energy utilization. GB/T 44900-2024, Technical specification for fluoridation process reengineering intensified by Higee reactor, will contribute to the optimization of manufacturing technique and procedure of hazardous chemicals, helping fundamentally reduce risks in safe fluoridation process.

In terms of people’s consumption, four national standards on electric drying racks, refrigerators, washing machines, and low temperature freezers were released and three national standards on dining tables and chairs, wood furniture, and metal furniture were revised. They will help further improve the quality requirements for household appliances and furniture, strengthen their safety and reliability, and facilitate the trade-in of consumer goods, constantly meeting people’s pursuit of living a high-quality life. GB/T 44904-2024, After-sales service—Service specification of unconditional return, provides the technical support for regulating unconditional return services and behaviors, which helps optimize consumption environment and strengthen after-sales guarantee.

In terms of agricultural production, three national standards on the seeds of grain crops, seeds of cash crops, and seeds of crops specify the germination rate, clarity and labeling of seeds. Another 12 national standards on inspection, machinery and storage of grain and oil define the fungi, pest and mechanical properties to reduce grain loss. Three national standards on high-quality wheat, sorghum and millet are expected to promote the selection and breeding of high-quality grains, improve the supply of high-quality commodity grains, increase the income of farmers, and contribute to village revitalization in China.

In terms of carbon emission accounting, three national standards were released. GB/T 44903-2024, Greenhouse gases—Quantification methodologies and requirements for carbon footprint of products—Livestock products, and the standards on requirements of the greenhouse gas emissions accounting and reporting for furniture production enterprises and chemical fiber production enterprises.

Besides, other national standards on steel, architectural ornament, and theater services were also released.
