This June is the nation’s 23rd Safety Month. To implement the National Standardization Development Outline and ensure people’s life and property safety with standards, SAMR (SAC) and other 10 ministries jointly issued the Guidelines for Implementing the Project on Building the Basis of Public Safety Standardization.
The document puts forward that by 2027, more than 300 national and sectoral standards on public safety will be developed and revised in 15 major fields such as public security, transportation, safety production, firefighting and rescue, public health, network and data security.
According to the document, there are key tasks in six aspects including strengthening the overall planning and layout of the standards system on public safety, establishing an efficient and coordinated standardization work system, promoting the capacity building of digital and integrated services, improving the system of standardization technical organizations on public safety, practically enhancing the implementation and supervision of public safety standards, and driving the internationalization of public safety standards.
Deploying and implementing the project on building the basis of public safety standardization will vigorously promote the standardization work in the area of public safety, facilitate the transformation towards preventive public safety governance, and further strengthen the role of safety standards in building the bottom line and ensuring safety, providing standardization support for better protecting people’s life and property safety and boosting high-quality economic and social development.
