SAMR (SAC) recently approved and released a number of important national standards, covering emerging fields, transportation and logistics, ecological and environmental protection, workplace safety, peoples daily lives and other areas. These standards will play an essential role in improving peoples quality of life and safeguarding their life and property safety.

In terms of emerging fields, five national standards for brain-computer interfaces, digital twins and other aspects clarify the basic specifications such as reference frameworks and data formats to support the high-quality development of state-of-the-art technologies. Forty-seven national standards, including those for polished monocrystalline aluminum nitride wafers and carbon fiber reinforced composite, will boost the innovative development of the new materials industry. Fifteen national standards for laboratory animals, such as GB/T 47139-2026, Laboratory animalTechnical specifications for identification and evaluation of experimental animal models, and GB/T 14926.4-2026, Laboratory animalMethod for examination of pathogenic dermal fungi, enable laboratory animals to better support biotech research and application.

In terms of transportation and logistics, two national standards for intelligent connected vehicles involving performance tests of autonomous driving and automatic parking systems will help improve the performance, quality and safety of intelligent connected vehicles. Six national standards, such as GB 48001-2026, Safety technical requirements for automotive door handle, and GB/T 20608-2006, Intelligent transportation systemsAdaptive cruise control systemsPerformance requirements and test procedures, will promote safer and greener road traffic. Two mandatory national standards for workplace safety operations and equipment configuration in the postal industry specify the safety operation specifications and equipment requirements for postal and express delivery enterprises in collection, sorting, transportation, delivery and other links, enhancing the governance of workplace safety in the postal sector. Four national standards for logistics and procurement, including green logistics indicators and accounting, and sustainable procurement, will drive the green transformation of supply chains.

In terms of ecological and environmental protection, six national standards, including GB/T 47048-2026, General requirements for signage of protected areas, and GB/T 47054-2026, Forest and grassland fire prevention—Technical specification for unmanned aerial vehicle patrol, provide support for safeguarding national ecological security. Two national standards for environmental due diligence assessment and environmental report assurance are of great significance for facilitating green development and improving environmental governance efficiency. Two national standards concerning the accounting and reporting of greenhouse gas emissions will help domestic enterprises accurately calculate and standardize their greenhouse gas emissions and provide support for greenhouse gas emission management.

In terms of workplace safety, 16 mandatory national standards in the fire protection field, covering outdoor fire hydrants, fire hose reels, combustible gas detectors, fixed fire water supply equipment and other products, upgrade the technical requirements and inspection rules for relevant fire protection products, and provide technical benchmarks for preventing and resolving major fire safety risks. Fourteen national standards, including GB/T 27997-2026, Shipbuilding gantry cranes, GB/T 26474-2026, Container reach stacker, GB/T 20663-2026, Accumulators, ensure the safe and stable operation of special equipment.

In terms of peoples daily lives, four national standards concerning services for persons with disabilities, covering single-arm operated walkers, cognitive accessibility, and rehabilitation institutions for children with autism, will promote the quality improvement and service standardization of assistive rehabilitation devices and enhance rehabilitation security for key groups such as persons with disabilities, the elderly and special children. Eight national standards, including GB/T 22576.1-2026, Medical laboratories—Requirements for quality and competence—Part 1: General requirements, GB/T 47143—2026, Sterilization of health care productsLow temperature vaporized hydrogen peroxideRequirements for the development, validation and routine control of a sterilization process for medical devices, will regulate medical testing, medical device manufacturing and other activities.

In addition, SAMR (SAC) released national standards related to transportation terminology, earth-moving machinery, reciprocating internal combustion engines and other areas.
