Experts and representatives from the IEC Secretariat and countries such as Germany and South Korea gave presentations on topics including the latest outcomes of the Kenya project of IEC Global Impact Fund (GIF), environmental, social and governance (ESG) issues, and digitalization of standards. A discussion panel was held to discuss how international standards and conformity assessment promote the local environment and economy.

According to the representatives, international standards are the important technical basis for the global governance system and economic and trade cooperation, and it is an international consensus that international standards are used to address practical challenges including global climate change. International standards contribute to the international sustainable development, green development of energy, and coordinated ESG development.

The IEC GIF, launched in 2022, is designed to cope with global ESG challenges via the IEC standards and conformity assessment systems through project funding.
