The Chinese delegation attended the 88th IEC General Meeting held in Edinburgh, the U.K., on October 20-25, 2024.

The General Meeting delivered various working reports in 2024, announced the winners of the Lord Kelvin Award, approved the membership fees for IEC members and the revised IEC Statutes, and elected the next IEC president and members of management boards such as the IEC Board (IB), Standardization Management Board (SMB), and Conformity Assessment Board (CAB).

More than 1,200 representatives from IEC national committees, international and regional organizations from more than 90 countries attended the meeting on site, and over 450 representatives participated in the meeting and a series of workshops online.

The Chinese delegation attended the General Meeting, several management meetings such as that of IB, SMB, CAB, and IEC Forum (IF), as well as 28 meetings of technical bodies on quantum technology, artificial intelligence, medical devices, and others.
