SAMR (SAC) and Jiangxi Provincial Government held a provincial and ministerial joint meeting on ecological civilization standardization, which is also a symposium on boosting provincial strength in standards in Nanchang city, capital of Jiangxi province on April 9, 2024. Dr. Tian Shihong, Vice Minister of SAMR and Administrator of SAC, and Mr. Shi Ke, Vice Governor of Jiangxi, attended and addressed the event.

The meeting called for an in-depth learning and implementation of Xi Jinping Thought on Ecological Civilization, strengthening the supporting role of quality and the leading role of standards, and driving the high-quality economic development with standards upgrading.

In terms of boosting provincial strength in standards, the system design and policy incentives should be enhanced to fully unleash the vitality of standardization innovation. The interactive development of standardization and scientific and technological innovation should be reinforced to promote the transformation of scientific and technological achievements into productivity.

In terms of establishing national pilot zones for ecological civilization, the development of important standards should be strengthened to lead the high-quality development of the pilot zones with high standards. The path to ecological product value realization should be explored to improve the platform for innovation and collaboration of ecological civilization standardization, and raise the brand influence of products for green ecology in Jiangxi.

In terms of building the modern industrial system, the industrial chain should be enhanced, repaired and expanded with standards, and equipment upgrading and consumer goods trade-in programs should be led with improved standards. The standardization service and management model should be innovated to vigorously cultivate and develop market-oriented professional standardization service bodies.

In terms of high-level opening up, standardization communication and cooperation at home and abroad should be strengthened to explore new international standardization work mechanism, and help Jiangxi take the lead in steadily expanding the institutional opening up of standards.

According to the meeting, centering on the provincial and ministerial standardization cooperation and the deployments of boosting provincial strength in standards, concerted and pioneering efforts should be made in mechanism innovation, platform innovation and talent cultivation, promoting the innovative development of standardization in Jiangxi to a new level.
